HOT TIP OF THE MONTH

Pivot and Hip Turn

Start the swing with your hips. 1. Drive your hip at the pitcher. 2. lifting your back heel in the process. This hip turn powers your swing and 3. starts your hands forward, generating that all important bat speed.

Previous Tips

HANDS INSIDE

As you swing the bat, first drive your hands forward close to your body. This ensures that your hands are always inside the ball; between your body and the path of the ball. Second, this action keeps your swing short and quick and third keeps your bat head in line with the flight of the pitch for a longer time.  And last, more of the barrel of your bat will be in the strike zone, so you will be less likely to get jammed by an inside pitch.

SHORT STRIDE

A proper stride does three things for you: It helps you transfer your weight forward, it keeps you from bailing out and it helps you be quick through the zone.

1. Keep your back leg solid as 2.you take your stride - short, slow and smooth. 3. Land on the ball of your foot, with your knees flexed, and keep your front foot closed.. Stay in a straight line.
