I am very proud and excited to bring the COMBAT PITCHER Program to the Dugout Club Training Facility! The Dugout Club is now the FIRST and ONLY facility in the Atlanta area, and the state of Georgia for that matter, to offer what I believe to be the best Pitcher Training program in existence today. It will also greatly improve any players arm strength!

This is not the static and stale version of pitching lessons you are used to that rely on as many differing opinions as there are instructors. This is a full body athletic training program with proven documented results that teaches the pitcher to move in a sequential and synchronized way without all those static and robotic stopping points that so many are trying to teach. Too many dots to connect and too much emphasis on stationary points will paralyze any athlete. This used to be referred to as “Paralyzation through Analyzation!” We more commonly refer to it as “Think long, Think wrong!” Much if not most of what is being taught today is not what a good pitcher thinks about or would ever attempt. Not only do many methods look odd, but they plain ole just don’t feel good. A good test for this is to ask the coach to do what he is teaching. Many times they can’t do it, do something entirely different from what they are saying, or look real bad doing it with poor results. Why subject your son to this? A good pitcher must be about getting the hitter out and winning the game; not worrying about where their hands and feet are at a given moment of time during a movement that requires speed, explosiveness, rhythm, timing all while plowing down a hill of varying degrees. Next might come some peculiar robotic pose inaccurately referred to as the Power-T. WHAT????? This is very difficult for an accomplished pitcher to do well, if not impossible, let alone an aspiring one!

No pitcher in history has ever thrown the same as another so it stands to reason pitchers should not be cloned to do so. They are all built differently and must be guided through methods of discovery, balance, and intense exercise all at the same time to gain a real feel of how their body and its natural movements can be turned into a virtual whip. The arm is just one part of many the body requires to throw a ball hard and well. Velocity gains are rare and limited at best by just throwing off a mound with a coach giving opinions. Traditional coaches that believe in one cloning method through half hour sessions, and there are many out there, pass off lack of velocity gains as the student doesn’t possess those GOD given tools. HOGWASH!

I’m happy to say we are proving that head in the sand mindset wrong every day.

We are replicating what the all time greats knew about and inherently did from the time they were little boys until they were grown men. Its how they played, worked, and earned a living. This was the key to their success. They were the original COMBAT PITCHERS!

We have come a long way from 2 weeks ago! The intensity and competitive nature have become stronger with improvements across the board as proof! To date the COMBAT PITCHER has been a documented success and I’m very proud of the hard work and dedication shown by the 26 Pitchers in this months sessions. Athletic ability increases are evident especially on the Side to Sides, Diagonals, and Catapults! Endurance has increased substantially reflected in the addition of Athletic cycles and more innings pitched in the same amount of time. We are establishing new Dugout Club Records every day and based on the guy’s work ethic, I expect more records to fall before June gets here!

I know the one thing people, and pitchers of course, want to know is how much their Velocity has increased. In addition to Athleticism, Speed, Coordination, Arm Care, Strength, and Balance through Sequentially Synchronized Movements, Velocity Creation is also a part of Combat Pitcher. I’m well aware this one thing tends to be the main focus and in some ways, it should be. I don’t make it the main focus with the pitchers as I want them to understand that the program as a whole works in unison to create Velocity. To forget this fact will indeed affect the level of success in Velocity Creation. One exercise feeds the other to maximize the individual’s ability to use his GOD given abilities learning through feel and discovery with guidance. This method also builds pitcher confidence which contributes Velocity Creation.

With this said, I am happy to announce we have had an average increase in Velocity of (4.5 MPH)! That is substantial in a 2 week period. Everyone has peaked at least (3 MPH) more than when they started and some have peaked by as much as (7 MPH)! More importantly, all are consistently staying at (3 MPH) or more above what they averaged 2 weeks ago. This doesn’t happen by accident. The answer is very hard work by the individuals involved and the will and desire to compete for something better! Parents should truly be proud of their kid’s success to this point!

2 Weeks to go Fellas! Don’t stop now. Let’s blow these numbers out of the water!
